Spread the #goodnews! Repost @danceliberation “After destroying NYC nightlife and culture for 91 years the NYC Cabaret (No Dancing) Law has finally come to an end. Please join us in celebrating the death of this racist, authoritarian regulation and the birth of a new era in our great city. A city where all people, not just the wealthy, are permitted to move their bodies rythmically without fear of retaliation. A city where the government does not attack it’s culture but rather celebrates it and let’s it flourish in a fashion that is safe and fair to all. Let NYC Dance! We won. Thanks NYC Artist Coalition, Dance Parade New York, House Coalition, Rafael L Espinal, Andrew Muchmore and the history of the fighters who’ve worked to repeal this ️ 🕺 #letnycdance #nyccabaretlaw

So glad to be given another chance at life. Some of you may have heard about the accident this past summer. I have not been talking about it, but I am taking this moment now to say I am glad for the things that make me laugh & give me joy along the way! There are constant reminders that time here on earth is limited – so I say.. let’s live it! Not out of the woods yet – but I’m proud to say I’m a traumatic brain injury survivor. What better way to celebrate than to bring people together in dance? So much love going out to you all who made it possible for me to be here right now! Family, friends, my team of rehab experts and docs, Musicares, and many more I cannot thank you enough! #Thankyou #gratitude #SelectressIrielaAdventures #gladtobealive2017tour 🛫☄🌎

Voodoo Ray I can’t believe you are gone…! We shared a special bond which did not come to light until yrs after we met in real life …. one day you posted this image of an ad campaign you did in the early 90s to your FB profile picture. I jumped when I saw it! Life comes full circle & we are all connected – all those years you were on the wall of my bedroom, first in high school then in college. Long before I knew you I cut this exact image out of Source magazine. The message guided me through my coming of age & stayed with me until this moment, I even thought of this yesterday! in a moment of self encouragement: “Do what you love, the rest comes.” Keep shining bright Ray. You will be missed.
